Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 12, 2026

LendingSchool.ca (“we”, “us”) is an educational and lead-generation platform focused on the Canadian private mortgage market. We are not a lender, mortgage broker, or licensed mortgage agent. We collect information through this site to connect you with independent licensed mortgage professionals and to provide educational content and tools.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the site or submitting a form, you consent to this Policy to the extent required by applicable law.

We aim to comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws (including PIPEDA and related provincial privacy rules) and may update this Policy as required.

Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you provide: e.g., name, email, phone number, loan amount needed, property value, property province, approximate credit range, purpose/goal, and notes you submit through our application/assessment forms.
  • AI Assistant interactions: messages you send and the responses returned, used to generate answers and improve the experience. The tool is for general education only—not professional advice or a mortgage offer. DO NOT submit: government IDs, full card numbers, SINs, or health info. See our Terms of Service for full AI Assistant use terms.
  • Technical and usage data: e.g., IP address (or an approximation), browser/device details (User-Agent), page path, timestamps, and error logs for security, abuse prevention, and performance.
  • Cookies/local storage: we may use essential cookies or local storage to operate the site (for example, remembering language preference).

AI Assistant (chat tool)

Use of our AI Assistant is subject to our Terms of Service. The tool provides general education only—not professional advice, personalized to your situation, or a mortgage offer. Responses may be inaccurate or outdated. Do not submit government-issued IDs, full card numbers, SINs, or health information. Always verify with licensed professionals before making decisions. By using the tool, you accept these limitations and responsibility for your decisions.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide the service: process your submission, understand your request, and share your information with matched licensed mortgage professionals so they can contact you.
  • Communicate: send confirmations and follow-ups related to your request (email and, if provided, phone/text), subject to your consent and applicable law.
  • Operate and improve: maintain, debug, and improve site features and content.
  • Security and compliance: prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents, and comply with legal obligations and enforcement requests.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Matched licensed mortgage professionals so they can contact you about your request (their handling of your information is also governed by their own privacy policies).
  • Service providers (processors) such as hosting, databases and infrastructure (e.g., Supabase), and AI service providers used to process AI-advisor messages. These providers process information only as needed to provide services to us.
  • Webhook/CRM systems if configured (e.g., Zapier/Make/CRM) for lead follow-up and operations.
  • Legal and security recipients when necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights/safety, or investigate potential violations.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale.

Cross-border processing

Our vendors and service providers may store or process information outside Canada (including in the United States or other jurisdictions). As a result, your information may be subject to foreign laws and lawful access requests in those jurisdictions.

Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described above, including compliance, dispute resolution, and security auditing. You may request deletion; in some cases we may need to retain certain records to comply with law or resolve disputes.

Your choices and rights

  • Access/correction/deletion: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing).
  • Communications: you can opt out of non-essential communications (we may still send necessary messages related to your request).
  • Cookie controls: you can manage cookies/local storage in your browser settings, but some features may not work.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (such as access controls and encryption in transit). However, no system is perfectly secure, and you should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.

Children

The site is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page and reflected in the effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice.
